Karoline & the Free Folks is a band from Lyon that draws inspiration from traditional American music, particularly country, bluegrass, and folk. Through their songs, the trio invites the audience on a journey to the heart of American roots music, between wide open spaces, dusty roads, and timeless musical heritage. Their warm and vibrant world combines infectious energy and sensitive poetry in a resolutely authentic spirit.
Alternating between catchy original compositions and revisited standards, Karoline & the Free Folks dynamically celebrate the codes of American music. The band showcases the genre's iconic string instruments—guitar, violin, mandolin, banjo, and double bass—as well as rich vocal harmonies that give their repertoire its depth. Their music pays tribute to major figures in newgrass, bluegrass, and contemporary country such as Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Ferrell, Doc Watson, and Tim O'Brien.
After the release of their debut album in 2022, praised for its freshness and sincerity, the band returns in 2026 with a second album that fully embraces bluegrass sounds. This new album marks an important milestone in their artistic journey, further affirming their musical identity and attachment to their roots while infusing them with a decidedly personal touch.
The band consists of:
Caroline: vocals, guitar, mandolin, banjo — composition and lyrics
